I was going to leave Fabian Delph where he deserves to be left, but I can't. And it's not just because he went off injured after 18 minutes on his Manchester City debut, but it's because I've been thinking about Ashley Young the last few days.
But not very deep down I know Webcam isn't coming back because I know he'll get more money from a team like Stoke or Newcastle and I also know that for Webcam, it's his last contract coming up and he sold his soul many years ago, so he's only going to be interested in the pay cheque.
But Webcam would be good for us. He'd offer something positive and it would be nice to see him in claret and blue again. We just know it's not going to happen.
But seeing as I started on Delph, I'm going to continue on that path just for another few minutes and I have to say that while I'm not one of those supporters that wishes it would all be over for him, I have to tell you there was a smile when I heard he went off in the 18th minute. It did feel a little like he got what was coming to him. But I do hope he sits on the bench.
And I heard that the Real Madrid fans also booed him and if you look at his latest picture on Instagram, he has 4,000 likes but over 7,000 comments, mostly of pure hatred and not just from Aston Villa fans. Fabian Delph has become one of the most disliked footballers of the modern day.
The round up of everything else
Talk is West Brom have made an offer of £2mn for Ciaran Clark and some, judging by the comments I've seen written about Clark, will think this is a good deal. It's not a good deal.
Clark should be given a contract for the next ten years because he's very close to becoming the finished product and when he is he'll be worth many times the offer and Aston Villa will be a much better side for it.
But moving on, there is also talk that Jordan Ayew threw his toys out of the pram yesterday at the same time as reports say he is in England for a medical. Some reports say €12 while others say £12mn. I give up, I really do.
Lastly, before I get up out of bed, Gardner and Gil are injured. We have to wait to see how long but surely there is going to come a day when the club just let Gardner go. I mean, how much has he cost the club; £10mn and what have they got back? There comes a time when you have to cut your losses and while I would love to see this lad get a chance and show us he is capable, he always seems to be injured.
Don't get me wrong, it's a massive shame and I hope this current injury is over soon and it's nothing serious, but what a job he has right? As for Gil, nothing is confirmed, but we shouldn't expect anything from the club. Other than a great looking website in a few weeks time.
