Aston Villa at Spurs and the Tim Sherwood show

Football is coming around quick these days and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I'm also not sure that the next three matches are going to play out the way we want them to play out and while there have been a lot of posts and opinion written about the threat of relegation, but if these games play out as the bookmakers think they are going to play out, then it isn't going to be pretty.

And it all starts with Spurs and quite possibly the Tim Sherwood show. But that's okay, if we get the points and it takes a little bit of pressure off the players. Hell, even if it puts a bit of pressure on them, it's okay too. As long as we get the result.

And we need to get something because there is a chance that if we lose, by close of business on Sunday we could be 19th as the other teams need only win. It's not likely but possible and that's without Hull and Burnley playing the game in hand they have over us.

To the match

So that is basically the position we find ourselves in and why if Tim Sherwood is going to take a little bit of pressure off the players, then it isn't such a bad thing. But boy, do we need three points tomorrow.

And if Spurs play like they did against Burnley we might stand a chance. Or it could just be that Burnley are starting to come good and that Spurs were thwarted at every turn. I'm not sure it matters either way because we have Burnley coming up too and they may very well be just as desperate for the points too.

And finally, if the last few games are anything to go by, the man we are going to rely on to get us the win is going to be Benteke. But as we saw against QPR on Tuesday, if we can't defend it sort of doesn't matter how many goals he gets. It's about more than one man, but it's also apparently just about one man. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but you'll know what I mean.

And we've not got Gil, Sinclair, Hutton and Westwood, players that would probably all help. It's going to make for an interesting tomorrow.
