World Cup beckons for Warnock, Heskey, Milner and Lowry

James Milner, Stephen Warnock and Emile Heskey have made the provisional 30 man squad for the World Cup in South Africa starting in June while Shane Lowry has also been called up to the 30 man preliminary squad by Australia, although they did name 31 players in the list.

It's all nice news and while some might think that Warnock getting picked is a surprise I quite fancy he will make the cut ahead of Leighton Baines.

Capello is going to want to have two players that are specialists in each position and while I think it is fair to assume that Cashley Cole is his preferred choice and I just fancy Warnock will feature ahead of Baines. Or maybe that is me just hoping to see another Aston Villa play in South Africa.

It is also important to mention that this list has to be trimmed down to 23 players by June 1st, so while the chances are good that all three will go, we will not know for sure for a few weeks.

So, all good nice news for the three going and for Shane Lowry, who has made the Australia 30 man squad after impressing on loan at Leeds.

If there are other Aston Villa players going to the World Cup, I apologise for not mentioning them, maybe I could get reminded below who they are or maybe I'll do a little more research after looking at Guzan and Cuellar.
