Whatever will be, will be: Aston Villa beat Norwich 4-1 to reach semi-finals of the League Cup

I'm not going to say I told you so, but we were always going to win this. Our club has a thing with the League Cup and tonight was always going to be a good night.

It was only Norwich and I know that is not a nice thing to say, but it was. Tonight was always going to be special and even though I only heard it on the radio, it sure felt like it too.

The away support were once again fantastic. They were louder than the home support and by all accounts they were letting off fireworks. It was an atmosphere sure to get a mention from the manager and some of the players.

Goals from Holman, two from Weimann and a very late one from Benteke won the game, but we only went ahead in the 79th minute, but from what I heard, we were pretty much in control of the match for the majority. But again, it was only Norwich.

I'll stop that now. Now is the time for smiling and feeling confident. A semi-final is always interesting and it doesn't matter who we get, we can beat anyone.

The players

Given, Clark, Lichaj, Baker, Lowton, El Ahmadi, Delph, Herd, Bent (Weimann - 35' ), Holman (N'Zogbia - 73' ) and Benteke.
