I don't know what to write today. There seems to be a lot of anger towards Randy Lerner at the moment and I'll be honest, I'm not surprised with that, but I am surprised that it still happens.
When I called it a dark day last year, it wasn't because we appointed Alex McLeish, it was because that was what the club had become under Lerner. I've also long written that he is only here for what he can get out of it.
And I know that ruffles feathers, but the fact is, he owns the club 100% and doesn't really care what supporters think. The other fact is, Paul Lambert needs time and maybe a player or two, but not that many. It will gel in time, of that you can be certain.
But will it gel the right way? That is another question and we all know he has only had one season in the Premier League but he did okay and he more than anyone will be thinking about how to fix things.
And I'm not one to delve into tactics - sure I've got no problem talking about creating space and keeping the ball - but he'll be working on the little things and making the little things happen. It can not all happen at once.
Speculation starts
So, with two defeats and only one other side not to pick up any points this season (not that it really matters just yet) speculation mounted this morning that there will be a player or two coming in this week. This is knee jerk and a fairly well educated guess and nobody can think for a moment that our business was done - although it is very close.
And with that, we wait until the window closes and this season it is Friday, so expect rumours flying around left right and centre and all the 'in the know' Twitter super agents to go mad, but believe it when you see him in the shirt and when that happens, we'll be blogging about it.
Until then, live long and prosper.
