Slow news day, next season and Ashley Young

Short post from me today as the post-mortem is coming tomorrow and there is little going on football wise until Febraury 26th - who said they play too much football?

The result is still a bit gutting. Blackpool had gone five games beaten and it had to be us that ended that miserable run. It doesn't feel right, but I know it is only temporary.

I know it is temporary because we have been here before. We all know how this is going to play out this season and next and the one after. It's just the way it is.

And that is why I can confidently write that next season will be better. specially if we can keep Ashley Young.

Can we stop with the speculation

I don't know what site I saw this on, for all I know it could have been the Guardian or the club site, but there was reference to summer speculation. The January transfer window only just shut - can we please give it a break.

Ashley Young will decide in the summer where he wants to go, if anywhere and that can very much be controlled by us. If we spend big, he might want to stay - if Manchester United come in for him, who could blame him for wanting to leave, but I very much doubt United will come in for him.

At the end of the day

Football is a funny old game. We shouldn't get wound up by it. This season was always going to be a strange one and none of us should be surprised.

Next season will be a very different one and I predict, all things as they are, a very good one.
