Moving on, an England waste of time and manager of our generation

Nigel Reo-Coker: He'll be off soon and we will see some good football from him somewhere else

Sometimes you need to pick yourself up and move on. Nigel Reo-Coker will be doing that this summer and in the process he'll pocket a huge amount of cash and if he has any soul, he'll send me my commission and claim it as tax deductible charitable donation.

Stiliyan Petrov will be 32 years old when next season kicks off and it is just a little too old to be playing 'week in week out' in the Premier League and he'll dust himself off and find a new club somewhere this summer too. So will Brad Friedel and possibly one or two others. None of it matters. We move on. Onwards and upwards.

Onwards and Upwards

I'm just trying to say that we move on. I'd like Nigel Reo-Coker to stay, we really haven't seen the best of him, but he made up his mind when O'Neill wrestled him to the ground and when you make your mind to cash in like that, it is very difficult to turn that type of money down. He probably already knows where he is going.

A draw wasn't that bad a result yesterday. A defeat would have been hard to swallow but Fulham are a team full of spirit. However, what did annoy me was how late we left it. I tweeted early in the second half that changes needed to happen and I even posted about it before the game - why, if I can see it before the bloody game and during it, doesn't the manager?

As for Stuart Downing playing on the right, so we can accommodate Gabby on the left - someone pass me a gun. The manager is getting it right, slowly, but the penny has to drop soon that twenty minutes in training is not the same as ninety minutes on match day.

Downing is a very decent player, we all know this, but he is, simply, better on the left. Actually, scrap that, I've looked at some statistics. In his last full season at Middlesbrough, he scored nine from the left and assisted with five. Maybe it doesn't matter. But actually it does for me, because him playing on the right means Albrighton isn't getting in the side and actually, that annoys me more.

My point, we could sit and talk about this all day. We need to move on. Forget yesterday. Hope the manager figures out the obvious and look forward to Blackpool next weekend and hope that players don't get injured in the waste of time international friendly taking place in Denmark on Wednesday.

Aston Villa players representing England

Kyle Walker, Stuart Downing, Ashley Young, Darren Bent and Gabby Agbonlahor were all picked for the England squad to waste some time playing Denmark in a match that doesn't matter to either nation. I wonder if Gabby will be played on the left and Downing will be played on the right? Well done lads. Really, well done as I'm sure to you guys it isn't a waste of time and it wouldn't be if I was picked, but for everyone else, it is.

Manager of our Generation

Continuing the project - today we are looking for the best manager. This is a difficult one but I imagine it will go to one of the two managers that actually brought silverware to Villa Park. It should. But it isn't for me to decide. Click here to vote for who you think was the best manager the club had over the last two decades.
