The news is out, don't stop me now. Micah Richards has signed on a free and it feels like good news. And even if it feels like I grew up watching him play football, he's only 26 years old and you'd fancy his best years are ahead of him.
And that is a fair assumption. But he has been playing for so long. He made his Manchester City debut 10 years ago. Don't get me wrong, he's a local boy (I didn't know this) and he's got a point to prove and on top of that I think he'll come good, but I'm not going to get carried away with it. I quite liked Hutton and I think we have some good central defenders.
But, it's a done deal and it's good business. If he has the type of season we all hope he has, he'll do well for us. We also need some older heads with a little experience behind them and even though he is only 26 years old, he's got plenty of experience.
And on that, it's a news post. Business done, but is more coming? Talk is there is more coming, but we'll only know for sure when it's announced. Here is hoping and may I be the first to welcome The Beast - a name I think you'll find quite appropriate if you look at the home page image of him.
