We will be playing Juventus on Sunday in the final of the Peace Cup as they beat Real Madrid in the other semi-final 2-1. I appreciate it is only pre-season but this will be a competitive match for those that play and I'm sure a good match.
I'm still quite chuffed about the result last night. The team played well and I really quite liked Reo-Coker and Sidwell in the middle together, almost as much as I liked Albrighton on the right, but I suspect it will all be different come the start of the season.
But, just as I'm happy about last night, I don't think the team we have now would get us anything other than maybe a top half finish, I still believe we need more players. It was a good result, but the reality is we still need more.
Last night however, when everyone is in a good mood about a good win, someone brought up the 'fickle fans' thing and do you want to know what winds me up more about this than anything else? It's that it came from David O'Leary and it is the only thing he has left us with.
The thing is, football fans for every bloody team on the planet are fickle. Not because it's football, but because it is human nature, it's nothing new, it was just something not mentioned prior to O'Leary and it now gives someone the chance to take the high ground. Fickle fans have always been in football and always will be.
Is it wrong to be unhappy that you are low in the league then the day after, be happy because you beat a team in the top half? It isn't, but some would call you fickle. Christ, can we leave this alone; it's something David O'Leary brought up and I'd be a better football manager than him.
Right, I'm off, but there is something from Doc later and maybe a rumour or two if we find the time, otherwise, you can tell us below, but don't tell anyone what I've said about fickle fans, it's top secret and they maybe don't want any surprises.
