It's over, no Ruddy and 54 days

Now that is over, let the speculation and action begin. Summer tournaments always slow down transfer activity but the players will be coming back soon and the manager is going to want to act quickly and while he will probably want to see the players in training, there is every chance he has already made up his mind about where he wants to strengthen.

But there is every chance he has also made plans about how he is going to get them playing football and with a bit of luck that will be the main priority when they do come back.

Or are they back already? I doubt it, but I'm not sure. You see, I'm reading a lot about Bent at the moment and his prediction of a bright future under Lambert, so that has me thinking that he has met and he has worked with him. Amazing that he can predict all that if he hadn't met and spent some time with him.

Some news and a date

So, we do have some news, well sort of. Ruddy has signed a new contract at Norwich so it looks like that wont be happening, which is just me guessing. There was probably no interest anyway and it was just local reporters putting four and eight together and getting 18, which coincidentally is the day in August that the new season kicks off.

Which means we have 54 days (if my counting on two hands is right) of speculation, player signings, a trip to America, more friendlies and more banter.

I'm not sure I'll survive until then but I will do my best and I might even get my feet wetter than normal over the speculation, you see I'm taking July off work. Not all of it, but most of it and I cant wait. You might even get a post a day for July - wont that be something?
