I'd love to see Dunne sacked, the real world and round-up

I'm a cynical bastard sometimes and I know it might wind a few of you up and I know that it doesn't do me any favours, most of the time, but I really do want to see Richard Dunne sacked today.

I want to see him sacked if half of what I've read about what happened is true and if he was given a written warning last time out. I want to see my football club send the clearest possible message, because if half of what I've read about what happened is true, then I'm afraid to say it, but there is no place for him at Aston Villa.

In the real world

If your first reaction is to think I've blown this out of proportion, think about what would happen in the real world if, like I've written above, half of what we have read is actually true. Would it be accepted at the company you work at?

Simple truth is it probably wouldn't be and chances are, in the real world, you would have received a written warning for the last time you did it and it probably clearly detailed that if anything like it happened again, you'd be sacked.

But, there might not be a meeting today and they might not have been told to bring their lawyers and this could be getting blown out of all proportion. But like I said, if half of what I've read is true, I'd like to see him sacked if he has had a previous written warning and at the very least he should be, if he wasn't last time, given a written warning today, detailing that he will be sacked if he steps a foot out of line again.

Round-up

Right, I've got that out of the way, so now I'm just going to very quickly get this out of the way too; there is more Ashley Young speculation. I got it out of the way the other day and I don't want to go down that road again. If it happens it happens and if it does, it really isn't that big a loss.

The team of our generation will be announced later. As soon as I can get in front of my desk with my access to my accounts, I'll be able to list for you how many votes everyone got and link to some nice graphs, but it is coming today.

Lastly today, there is a rumour about Kenny Dalglish showing interest in Stewart Downing. I wouldn't be surprised if this was true, but at the same time, I think Downing is happy and I think he is enjoying his football, so I don't think he is going to go anywhere and I think this summer will convince him of that.

But that is just me hyper bowling and I don't know why I'm using that word, but there you go. I'm off now. New post with the team later today.
