I nearly believe, I nearly do, but it's about next season now: An Aston Villa spanking

Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy, but I wrote before the match that this match had all the ingredients for a spanking and some would say that it was a spanking. I'm not so sure it was. The first 45 was definitely a spanking but the second half was more a walk in the park.

And in football you have to look at the 90. Today was a fantastic win, but not the spanking it could have been, but that doesn't matter. We're on 28 points and a lot closer to where we need to be to survive.

And it was a really good game. But we shouldn't forget that it was Sunderland and even before the game I wrote about the ingredients for a spanking. If I can say it's possible before kick off, put a monkey (written this way for Tim) down on Aston Villa to win at 2/1, then it's not that much of a surprise that it was a good game.

Next weekend will be a good test. Swansea have done okay this season but they're not the team many think. They're a team that have something, but they're a team we should be beating. Or actually, they're a team we could beat and if we do, we'll be on 31 points and the way things are going, that will be a massive step to staying up.

But anyway, like I wrote before, it was going to be difficult for Sherwood to relegate us, but it's not about this season and that also doesn't matter, because right now, whatever happens, I like Tim Sherwood and I like where we're going.

I'm going for more beer. It's Saturday and Aston Villa have won and not only won, but we've nearly spanked Sunderland.
