I don't know how to approach this post. It would be easy for me to link to the video of someone burning their Fabian Delph shirt from last season or the picture of the banner someone placed at Villa Park, but it might just be easier to turn the other cheek. I'm not going to link to those other things, but I can't stop you linking to them in the comments.
And with the impending departure of Benteke, it might be harder to look to the club for an explanation. Why, as supporters were we not informed when Manchester City exercised the release clause in his contract? Legally they don't have to but out of respect, you'd think they would. But I'll tell you why; they don't care about supporters. There are enough supporters willing to fork over money that the few that will get annoyed and do something about it don't matter.
And you know what; they don't really care that much about them either. They only care about the TV money and jobs for old friends.
Delph has said what he's had to say; it would be nice to think you can believe what the players say but I think with everything that has happened since January, I'm not going to believe another player again, apart from maybe Gabby that is, but I'm not sure he sticks with us because he wants to or nobody else wants him. But it doesn't matter anymore.
I*m going to leave this post before I write something that could get me in to trouble, but I will say this; if we're to believe anything, it's that this was a tough decision for Delph and while some would think his actions point to that, for me what happened just looks like they offered more money. And it's sad.
