Well, that was a bad day at the office, a very bad day. Defending was awful, tactics were poor and nobody seems to have told the players how to control the ball and why it is important to not lose it so easily.
In fact, that was one of the worst days in recent history. Almost as bad as that day we lost last season under Martin O'Neill to Chelsea.
There are also no excuses that fit the day or the feeling, so the caretaker and the players need to suck it up, watch the video, identify what went wrong and fix it and never let it happen again.
MacDonald also has to change a few things for the next match where he plays Albrighton and Downing together. He shouldn't make them switch sides.
Downing is awful on the left and Albrighton is much better on the right. He also has to think about substitutions and formation. We might have played with Webcam today but he was very much a striker.
Four-four-two is a dead formation and today, for all of you that will say we played 4-4-1-1 - for a lot of the time Webcam was up front as a striker and he didn't play that role just behind the main striker.
I could go on, but instead I'm going to have a beer. We were poor and Newcastle wanted it more than us, by a country mile. Stephen Ireland looked lost but he needs time and Webcam isn't a striker.
Suck it up lads, lets put it into perspective and move on. No excuses Mr MacDonald and no man of the match vote for this match, nobody deserves it.
