Aston Villa in race to sign French winger Franck Tabanou

You didn't read about it here first but according to one of the newspapers, we are interested in signing Toulouse winger Franck Tabanou, or so his agent has hinted.

Seeing as I am not a huge follower of French football there is little I can say but I've got a feeling that we will be seeing some French players or players that are currently playing in France arrive at Villa Park soon and I wouldn't be surprised if other teams are interested in them too.

As the rumour goes, Juventus are also interested in this player, but that doesn't mean much, because it is a rumour, they might as well have added Manchester United and Chelsea.

But he has spoken about us. A bit like how Steven Defour spoke about us a year or two ago.

If this rumour is true, I am proud because Aston Villa have been one of the big English clubs for several years. Now I play for Toulouse and don't think about it too much. But it would be a lie to say that this club doesn't interest me. If they make an offer, then we'll see.

We will soon find out if it is true. You never know, but like I said, don't be surprised to see some French players at the club very soon.
