Aston Villa draw with Stoke and Anfield shows respect

Anfield erupted in a song for Gerard Houllier earlier and I'm told it was the biggest song of the day - even bigger than 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. I write that because sometimes there are more important things than a result.

I should also write the result, because that is what this post is about. Aston Villa drew 1-1 with Stoke at home. Not the end of the world and not the worst thing that could have happened.

Darren Bent got the eqauliser after Jones headed in a very long Delap throw in. Have I written that before?

No man of the match vote below today, just a post to tell you the result and what happened at Anfield. There will be something tomorrow and a man of the match vote later, but for now, I have to rush. It is Saturday, time for a beer and banter.

Like I said, vote later, but a gentle reminder too that all good things come to those that wait. Also, that those good things don't happen overnight.

More change is coming and this is now the most important decision. The man that follows Houllier is crucial. Now we are going to see what the secret plan is all about.
