Look, I'm just going to write what someone is going to put out there, but no we shouldn't sack Tim Sherwood. Maybe we shouldn't have hired him but our just learning to walk CEO thought it a good idea and we have to hope that he'll get it right. But the thing is, losing to Stoke, only having two shots on target in 90 minutes and finishing the game playing 4-3-3 has a familiar ring to it.
But as I wrote earlier today, the optimism was getting a little too optimistic, so hopefully now the reality will kick in. But in case you don't really know, the reality is if we don't win three of our next four League games, we face the very real possibility of relegation.
Right now, after this first game in charge, we've gone down to 19th. But we all hope this is a false narrative.
And you know what, I think Sherwood got beaten in his first match when he took over at Spurs, then he went on to get a 50% win record - which ironically is what I think we need for us to stay up. So, keep your fingers crossed, because I don't know what else to write because it's not looking good right now.
And I'm sorry, but I am going to leave you now. Losing to Stoke at home isn't good enough and well, you can say we wouldn't have won with the previous manager, but that's sort of irrelevant. We didn't win with this one and that's all that matters. That and staying in the Premier League. But I still think we will.
