Aston Villa 1 Stoke 1: Sadly predictable result and performance

I don't know what to tell you. A wonderful goal from Andreas Weimann and I really do mean wonderful, was the moment of the day. After that and before it, it was typical Alex McLeish football and very depressing.

Honestly. There is little else. First half possession was 50/50 in the first half and I'll tell you this, after going in at half time one nil up, we sat back in the second and invited the equaliser from Stoke.

And after inviting the goal, it came and not many people were surprised. If anyone says they are surprised with the result after watching the game doesn't know what they are talking about. I'm sorry, but we invited that and we got exactly what we wanted.

But, it doesn't matter, does it? Well, to some it does. You see, only 30,100 turned up today and that is the lowest attendance all season if I am not mistaken and against a team that can be considered fairly local.

Actions speak louder than words

But enough words. The attendance and the performance and the result speak for themselves.

I will say this; fantastic to see so many of the younger players again today and I hope they don't become too disheartened with the results and just believe that the owner will make it better in the summer because they must fear their place if this manager is given money and that would be a crime.

I'm going to get a beer before watching Chelsea. I have a feeling that will be a better game because this one was dull.
