This isn't really news, but it has happened as confirmed by Manchester United. Personally, I wish him well. He did okay for us and he will get better with them and although he wont see the same number of Premier League games, he'll see many more in Europe and I think that is what he wanted.
A statement from Manchester United was very specific and they've committed the player to his best days, but if someone wanted to argue that we have saw the best of him in his first season, that particular person would be in a good position.
But I think he will get better and he isn't going to be 'the man' at Manchester United and that might very well help his game. No corners or free kicks from him unless he gets them spot on and if he doesn't, he'll not be called upon until he can prove he can deliver. It will be interesting to watch him next season.
Manchester United is delighted to announce it has reached agreement with Aston Villa for the transfer of Ashley Young. The player passed a medical in Manchester this week and has agreed a five-year contract.
So, that is the end of that. Now the attention turns to Stewart Downing and if he leaves, it really will be a shambles. Only time will tell.
