Right, that was a nice break. Sure, you want proper football every week, but sometimes it's nice not to and we have, it feels, had a few games already. But the week did have some bits of news for us.
Someone came up with the idea of increasing the capacity of Villa Park to 60,000. We need quite a few things for that to be viable and we have none. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have a vision, mine is to travel to the moon, but it's probably also a good idea to stick with the 'as big as Barcelona' in five seasons.
But I shouldn't knock someone for trying to make as much money as possible.
Brentford at Villa Park
Brentford have two points from the opening five games and they come to us today. Snodgrass is expected to start and Jedinak is fit and I suspect he might also start.
I'm not that fussed about who starts. You see for me, it's about formation. It has to be 4-2-3-1 because it's worked for us this season. Oh hell, it can be 4-5-1 or even 4-3-3- when attacking as long as two of the top 3 come back when we don't have the ball.
As long as we play it week in, week out and everyone at the Club know that is how we play. It's not difficult.
I'll be back a little later and if you didn't know, the game is on AVTV later so no doubt if you're not there you will be watching. Me, I'm very confident about today. Maybe that is blind, but I've just got a good feeling about this season and as you know, Steve Bruce.
