Aston Villa v Bolton: Live updates, tweets, team news and banter

I was on the Leffe last night and I have to tell you, when a wise man tells you not to drink too many of them you should listen to the wise man. A lovely beer, but also a dangerous one for so many reasons.

But this post isn't about beer, it is about football and we have Bolton at Villa Park today and I know I'm overly confident and that I shouldn't be, but we really should win this one.

It would be nice to win it for Kevin MacDonald also and I hope he gets a good send off. When he was asked to jump, he jumped and we are seventh in the league, which is only one place worse off than after four games last season and if we win today we could end up higher in the league after five games than we were last season.

Little things, but Kevin MacDonald has done a fine job and should consider himself very unlucky not to have the job. But, we must move on and he has some thinking to do on what he does next, even though he really only has one choice, if he wants to one day manage another Premier League club. Which is sad.

As and when we get team news, we will add it, but until then, expect a variation of 4-5-1, even though it was 4-4-2 against Bolton last season and expect goals.

Football betting

I had a big bet on Manchester City and Liverpool to win the other night and it came in, so I'm feeling confident today. Listed below are all the best odds for all Premier League games this weekend.

Me, I'm sticking with what has worked for me and I'm going another double. First on the betting slip is us, I'm that confident and second on the betting slip is Everton.

Everton got the result they needed last weekend to have a good season. They usually start slow, but I think Everton have started early this season and I fancy they are a credible threat to fifth place.

My £10 bet will return £28.79 if it comes in and I fancy it will, but that price was with PaddyPower - you could get better visiting individual bookmakers.

Updates and Twitter

I'm here all day today and I'm going to make a little extra effort at updating the page a little bit more than usual on a Saturday as well as on Twitter, because I don't think there will be that much movement from me today.

Now, I'm off to play with a new toy and to tidy up the mess the wife created last night.
