Martin Bader, general manager at FC Nurnberg, has as good as told us that Aston Villa enquired about the availability of Japanese international midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake. But is this the same thing that happened when we were apparently after that player from France?
I'm not sure it matters if it is or isn't, when the other club is telling you you're making enquiries, you're making enquiries. It doesn't mean there was an offer to be made or that one is coming, it means you're making a call and asking a question.
But business is getting done and it's nice to know that the manager is still looking and I've got nothing against 22 and 23 years old, but I would hope he looks for that older head too. I'm not saying it is going to be crucial, but I think important.
And that is really the post. I know you already knew about Hiroshi Kiyotake but it was about time it got written and it looks like credible speculation. Just where were the local press on all this though? Muppets.
