At Spurs and some facts

Spurs are a slightly better version of us. They got lucky with Poch, showed the football world what they were really all about when appointing Mourinho and they're about to lose their best player.

It will be taken in different ways when I say slightly better version that us, but you all know what I really mean. And whatever version you take it, I'll be right. Everton and Spurs are currently fighting for the best version of us and Everton are winning.

Us, Spurs and Everton share a history in football that will soon be forgotten but until it is, we can live in hope.

But tonight isn't really about hope, not for me anyway. The season is long over and tonight is little more than an exercise and while I watched the Palace match, even though the manager named a loan player on the bench, I'm taking it further tonight and if a loan player is on the bench, I'm not watching because that says all it needs to say.

I could take it further and stamp my feet, but the truth is, naming loan players on the bench is essentially taking a chance away from one of our players. For large parts of the Palace game, it looked like a friendly and as I've written before, nobody is to blame, it's human nature, but it's like we know who is going to win the race but we're putting our money on the losing horse.

Competition winner

And we have a winner for the competition. I've just emailed them so no names unless they want to jump on but the total goals scored was 20 and they were one of 7 that guessed 20. Name were put in a virtual hat and I drew out the winner.
