Until tomorrow, Aston Villa in Paris

I remember the first match with Randy Lerner. I have lots of memories of Doug Ellis. I remember instantly not liking Tony Xia and thinking he was a charlatan, but I watched many swarm to him. When Sawiris and Edens took control I felt a huge amount of optimism. I didn't think it could get better.

Now it's October 2022 and we've got Steven Gerrard and his mate Christina Purslow in charge. I still believe and Purslow had good intentions but you should never employ friends or family and that was ultimately his downfall. He forgot. But then it got better, so much better than any of us could have imagined.

Enter Unai Emery. From his first press conference he showed he had a plan and a way of doing things. More importantly he had a vision and he set targets. And pinch yourself, we are living them and tomorrow it continues, like it will at the weekend too and next week too. And hopefully for a long time to come.

Back to today and no, I've not had a glass yet, but it's not far away. And today we are preparing for tomorrow. Quarter finals of the Champions League against PSG in Paris. And we are in a good run of form. And in football, anything is possible.

But this isn't me getting carried away. We're fighting on three fronts and PSG will be the toughest we face all season. And then we have them the week after also. But we are in a good run of form and we are in a place where we can make 8 changes to play the team third in the Premier League and still get three points.

Think about that for a second. And think about tomorrow night. Nothing is impossible and good things do happen. And most good things don't just arrive, they take blood and tears but under Emery, I don't think we're going to give up before a ball is kicked and it has felt at times like we were doing that.

And it's really only just begun. Until tomorrow kids.
