Football is a game of two halves and today we saw two Aston Villa sides play and if only the team from the first half could have been carried on, we would have won by more.
As it turns out, we had to battle for the three points today and only managed to secure them with three minutes to go when Emile Heskey scored with his head from a Stephen Warnock cross.
So, as of right now, we sit fifth in the table and all is good in the land of Aston Villa. I'm happy and you will be too if you followed my advice and put some money on Emile Heskey to score.
Not just about Heskey
Heskey scoring is going to be the story tomorrow but I think we should take a moment to mention Marc Albrighton and Ashely Young. The former set up the first with an inch perfect cross and the latter was everywhere today.
But so was Nigel Reo-Coker and King Carlos had the type of game that makes you wonder why he didn't pick up a World Cup winners medal this summer.
But more on all that tomorrow. Please vote for your man of the match to the right. I'm off for dinner and some apple pie and the wife will get lucky tonight.
