If anyone wants to argue that we played 4-4-2 today, I'm up for it, because it was clear as day 4-5-1 and the wrong players.
This is going to sound harsh, but you can not play Downing on the right - he doesn't know what he is doing and you could argue that he gets paid all this money so he should, but I don't fall into that group, I think that is a little too much.
Downing is a left sided player. Always has and always will be. You might as well not bother putting him on if he is going to play on the right and when he went to the left in the second half, I think my view was more than justified.
I should also point out, this isn't a new view, I've had it since he joined.
Albrighton came on in the second, replacing Stephen Ireland, and the game changed. We looked better going forward and we looked much more of a threat. This was because Webcam moved into the middle, Downing played on the left and Albrighton played on the right.
It isn't rocket science
To prove it isn't rocket science, with just over 15 minutes to go, the manager decided to switch Albrighton and Downing and our game changed. We didn't lose the attacking threat, we just lost the killer instinct.
But this is just a news post and the title tells you all you need to know right now. I want to watch the game again and on Monday we will look at it more but I will say now that Cuellar must start the next game and Dunne needs to be rested.
Until Monday and a Sunday post, please vote for your man of the match. I'm undecided, but I'm thinking Webcam, because he keeps emailing in saying that he isn't getting enough love from the site and you know what, I think he needs it, but I also think he gets a lot of love from me, just not everyone else.
Show Ashley the love and I will do something special.
