Liverpool 1 Aston Villa 3: What more do I need to write?

I thought we could win today, but that was based on the performance and result from the League Cup earlier in the week, so I was confident. Is that wrong?

It turns out that we continued the performance from earlier in the week and while Liverpool fans will say they had the lions share and they did, they actually didn't do that much with it.

When we got the ball, we didn't hit long and we held on to it. We created stuff and we made the ball do the work. Sure, we let in a late goal, but it was a lucky goal for Liverpool, hit more out of hope than anything else.

We scored three at Anfield

And this is where it gets interesting. You see, we scored three at Anfield and we deserved all of them. None of them were lucky and one was absolutely lovely.

I'm not going to spoil it for those that haven't seen it yet, but the second, was just magic and after that performance and the one in the week, it is hard to see how Gabby is going to get a game.

Weimann got the second but either side of that Benteke scored and if he keeps going like this, you might even see me writing that he is unplayable, because today, he was and his second, when you see it, will demonstrate why.

The team

Guzan, Clark, Lichaj, Baker, Lowton, Westwood, Bannan (El Ahmadi - 85' ), Herd, Holman (Delph - 69' ), Benteke and Weimann (N'Zogbia - 90').
