Blackpool 1 Aston Villa 1: It just didn't click

We looked okay in the first half, but the second didn't look as good and when Jean Makoun got sent off, we were never going to win this game.

We did go ahead and Gabby, on the left again, scored it. He was a little fortunate in the end and when the chance came and got closer I was worried, but he put it away.

But moments later Blackpool equalised. That was the end of the game.

Michael Bradley made his debut, replacing Gabby and Bent came off too early, to be replaced by Heskey.

But we lacked the killer touch today. We lacked something special and I'm not sure what it was. I'm going to watch the game again tomorrow morning and give more of an opinion on this on Monday.

As things stand

Right now, we are 15th in the table and it is possible, if Blackpool and West Brom win their games in hand over us, we will be 17th. I'm saying nothing, but I do have faith in Houllier, if only he would do what is necessary.
