Aston Villa 2 Burnley 1: After extra time

Aston Villa needed more than ninety minutes and it really did go to the wire as we finished the game with ten men and Burnley came at us, again and again in the second half of extra time.

But I didn't see the game so I'm not going to comment just yet on the match, instead I'm going to leave this post as a news post.

The first half sounded like mostly us and the second half sounded mostly like Burnley and it ended 1-1 after ninety minutes after I fancied we were going to go through after scoring first with not long left in the game.

But, Burnley scored and forced the game to extra time which is when it got interesting, on the radio that is.

Stewart Downing added to the Emile Heskey goal from earlier and then with not long left in the first half of extra time Marc Albrighton got himself sent off for a professional foul. But the goal was enough.

We saw out the second half of extra time and made it to the quarter finals of the League Cup again. Keep your fingers crossed that Arsenal get Manchester United.
